Pampered Chef Delightful Desserts
September 5, 2008 by Around The Blogosphere · Leave a Comment
A couple of weeks ago I was visiting my sister in Oklahoma City. We were transferring her massive amount of books from bookshelves in one room to bookshelves in another room. One cookbook that was in her collection was from The Pampered Chef, called Delightful Desserts.
Thumbing through the book I found recipe after recipe after recipe that I wanted to try! The book was full of impressive desserts that were simple in preparation and fun, everyday type desserts that little ones could help put together. I was impressed and a little bummed that I did not have one of these cookbooks to call my own.
That evening, I made a recipe from the cookbook. Cream Puff Squares tasted just like a real cream puff, only in bar form. Delicious! If you are looking for a cookbook that features delicious recipes sure to impress, then pick up a copy of Delightful Desserts today. It is well worth adding to your collection!

What’s Amway Got To Do With It?

Tina Turner and Amway?
The queen of rock ‘n’ roll sharing her glow with SA8 laundry soap and Nutrilite vitamins? What’s up with that?
It’s not an easy association, you have to admit. But Oct. 1, the iconic singer known for belting out “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” launches her first concert tour since 2000, a tour that also will re-introduce the Amway name to the North American market.
Beginning with a sold-out show in Kansas City, the tour called “Amway Global Presents Tina Turner Live in Concert” will stage 36 shows in 20 cities.
Unfortunately, the closest show to Amway’s Ada headquarters will be in Chicago.
The sexy singer is a whole new image for the company long associated with conservative, white-guy values and the baggage of old controversies.
The hope is good vibes from Tina’s ageless energy, talent and beauty will rub off on Amway products as the company launches its first aggressive advertising campaign in decades.

Seventh International Phytochemical Conference Focuses On Health Promotion And Therapeutic Potential

The Seventh International Phytochemical Conference, “Phytochemicals: Health Promotion and Therapeutic Potential”, highlights the most current research on phytonutrients and their impact on a variety of chronic conditions. The conference is sponsored by the Nutrilite Health Institute and the Department of Human Nutrition and Food Science in the College of Agriculture at California State Polytechnic University (CSPU). It will be held Oct. 20-21, 2008, at the Nutrilite Health Institute’s (NHI) Center for Optimal Health in Buena Park, Calif.
An international roster of recognized scientists will present a wide range of topics around phytonutrients including skin health, bone and joint health, brain health, obesity and metabolism, as well as cancer and vascular function.
“There is increasing evidence that certain phytochemicals may reduce an individual’s risk for chronic disease”, says Audra Davies, Director of Nutrition Product Development. “While there has long been an abundance of evidence that higher intakes of fruits and vegetables are associated with lower risks for chronic disease, specific mechanisms for these relationships have been more difficult to explain. This conference will provide a better understanding of these relationships, and will facilitate discussions that may serve to inspire important future research.”
Dr. Sam Rehnborg, President of the Nutrilite Health Institute is scheduled to give the Welcome Address. The keynote speaker will be Barry Halliwell, PhD, National University of Singapore. Dr. Halliwell is an internationally-acclaimed biochemist known for his seminal work in free radicals and antioxidants.
